Legislative Day

Legislative Day - 2003

On February 27th delegations from all fifty-two wings headed to Washington DC to meet with members of Congress.  NJ Wing Vice Commander Ted Schober met with Congressmen Rob Andrews and Jim Saxton, and with the legislative assistants of Senators Corzine and Lautenberg.  At these meetings he delivered the CAP annual report to congress and discussed CAP's role in New Jersey.  Two important other topics were covered - Civil Air Patrol's role in Homeland Security and cap volunteer coverage under the pending Public Safety Officer benefit act.

Each of these legislators expressed great support for the CAP program, and Congressman Andrews has agreed to join the Legislative squadron in Washington, DC.
