National Cadet Special
Activities
National Cadet Special Activities (NCSA)
offer cadets outstanding opportunities to spend a week or more exploring aerospace
careers, developing leadership skills, and furthering their love of aviation.
Seniors are able to participate in many of the activities as
escorts and support staff. Numerous activities are offered across
the nation every year. Follow the NCSA link above to the National
Cadet Special Activities website for further information.
Cadet of the
Year
New Jersey Wing selects a
Cadet of the Year in each phase of the Cadet Program.
These top cadets in each phase from
throughout the wing are honored at the Wing Conference each year.
These cadets participate actively in Civil
Air Patrol, have demonstrated outstanding leadership, and have attained
academic excellence in school. The
nominees from each squadron meet a wing selection board which evaluates each
cadet and selects the Wing Cadet of the Year for each phase.

The Cadet advisory Council (CAC) is composed of a
primary and assistant cadet representative from each New Jersey Wing
Squadron. The core mission of the CAC is to advise their commanders
on issues affecting cadets. The CAC also has three main purposes which
are to provide an organization where cadets gain leadership experience at
higher organizational levels, to aid commanders in monitoring and implementing
the Cadet Program, and to make recommendations for improving and running the
Cadet Program. The Council meets at least quarterly to discuss
cadet issues and develop activities for Cadet Programs in New Jersey Wing.
