==================================

New Jersey Wing Cadets find a structured program providing activities that develop leadership, aerospace knowledge, physical fitness, and moral direction. Advanced cadets are responsible for operating the program, and training less experienced cadets. Activities include flying in military and light aircraft, military drill and ceremonies, trips to Air Force and Aerospace Centers, cadet encampments and emergency services training.  Unlike other youth programs, once trained, Civil Air Patrol cadets participate in real lifesaving missions. Advanced cadets have the opportunity to learn to fly and travel overseas.

National Cadet Special Activities

National Cadet Special Activities (NCSA) offer cadets outstanding opportunities to spend a week or more exploring aerospace careers, developing leadership skills, and furthering their love of aviation.   Seniors are able to participate in many of the activities as escorts and support staff.   Numerous activities are offered across the nation every year.   Follow the NCSA link above to the National Cadet Special Activities website for further information.  New Jersey specific information for the Cadet NCSA review boards will be posted here.

Cadet of the Year

New Jersey Wing selects a Cadet of the Year in each phase of the Cadet Program.   These top cadets in each phase from throughout the wing are honored at the Wing Conference each year.   These cadets participate actively in Civil Air Patrol, have demonstrated outstanding leadership, and have attained academic excellence in school.  The nominees from each squadron meet a wing selection board which evaluates each cadet and selects the Wing Cadet of the Year for each phase.

Cadet Advisory Council

The Cadet advisory Council (CAC) is composed of a primary and assistant cadet representative from each New Jersey Wing Squadron.  The core mission of the CAC is to advise their commanders on issues affecting cadets.  The CAC also has three main purposes which are to provide an organization where cadets gain leadership experience at higher organizational levels, to aid commanders in monitoring and implementing the Cadet Program, and to make recommendations for improving and running the Cadet Program.   The Council meets at least quarterly to discuss cadet issues and develop activities for Cadet Programs in New Jersey Wing.
