Falcon Flight Academy – Class of 2005

The Falcon Flight Encampment is a premier cadet activity in New Jersey Wing held at Lakehurst Naval Engineering Station.  It consists of an intensive ground school and flight training taught by a flight instructor.   Cadets get approximately 10 hours of flight time in a CAP aircraft and may have the opportunity to solo based on their performance while at this activity.  Many cadets go on from this activity to earn their pilots license.

Falcon Flight gives the cadets approximately 30 hours of ground school instruction and 10 hours of flight time.  Achieving flight time is based on performance, participation, and support of the flight instructor while attending this activity.  Cadets who excel throughout the week may get the opportunity to do a solo flight.

Requirements to attend Falcon Flight Academy are:

Must be at least 16 years of age

Must be at least Cadet Technical Sergeant

Must obtain an FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate

To apply for Falcon Flight a formal application is required.  All participants are selected through an interview process.  After an applicant is selected to attend there is mandatory pre-requisite academic training that must be completed prior to the start of the activity.

The 2007 Falcon Flight Academy is June 23 to July 1, 2007 at Lakehurst Naval Engineering Station.  Expected cost is approximately $600.00
