 Today all of the cadet Doolies were in-processed and were welcomed to encampment by their command staff. Maj Soldano, Capt Jennings, C/Maj Boyajian all made opening remarks and C/Maj Maver and C/2d Lt Kraus introduced their staff to the cadets. Afterwards, at 1200 the cadets headed to their first meal in Talverson Hall. Following lunch the cadets were given a safety briefing by our encampments safety officers, Capt Onieal, C/2d Lt Kelly and C/CMSgt Onieal. They stressed how important hydrating is going to be this week, went over the fire drill routes and explained our flag system for the heat. They then took their gear and luggage to the barracks and unpacked. After dinner and personal time, where they were permitted to work on getting their rooms to inspection standards, they had an aerospace class taught by Col Troyano. The cadets rounded out their first day at basic encampment with personal time and lights out at 2130.
