The Tracking School was started in 1997. It is a total immersion week long program. It is an intensive practicum on Pressure Release tracking.

This school draws from both American Indian and Military tracking techniques, and adds the regimen of "Team Tracking" to enhance the effectiveness of the trackers.

Students are expected to have basic knowledge of tracking as a prerequisite, and be ready to live the trail for a week to become fully proficient. They will be expected to return as instructors. The program specializes in pressure release tracking. The subjects of environment awareness, individual survival, field medicine, and other topics will also be featured.

This school will be very close to nature, and expects a familiarity with Pressure Release tracking, as taught in the Advanced NJW GSAR School.


Course

The school trains students in fundamentals of Tracking. Upon completing this course you will have proficiencyin missing person search procedures, safety, survival, tracker team building and search techniques. This is accomplished through comprehensive classroom training and practical exercises. This course is intellectually and physically challenging.

Fees:

Fees for the course, including forgierre, tracker patch, course materials and meals are $95. Additional uniform items will be available for purchase from the Emergency Service Academy Bookstore at graduation.

Prerequisites:

Current and valid CAPF-101 card for ground team member
Excellent Physical Fitness
Seniors: Level 1
Cadets: SrA or 15 years old
Graduate of NJW Advanced GSAR or Equivalent
