Emergency Services Academy


The New Jersey Emergency Services Academy is a permanent NJ Wing activity that was established to:

  • Assist CAP units train their members
  • Provide standardized materials and syllabus for ES training
  • Provide training for emergency services instructors
  • Operate residence schools for ES qualification instruction
  • Assist units to train Non-CAP emergency responders
  • Enhance State and National accreditation of CAP training
  • Ground Search and Rescue Schools


    The Emergency Services Academy operates a number of Ground Search and Rescue Schools annually. Currently, the following school is planned for Spring 2006. Ground Team Member School, Ground Team Leader School.

    The schools provide realistic training to prepare the professional rescuer with the ability to succeed in real world operations. Physical and academic subjects develop skill sets that are necessary for accomplishing the search, rescue and disaster relief missions of Civil Air Patrol.

    These schools have been approved by CAP National Headquarters as meeting the training criteria in the National Emergency Services Curriculum Project Leave your ego and rank at the door. These are schools to learn what you need to know
